Neither quote describes Ms. Groneman's opinion of women; she wrote them describing opinions about women that were created in the past.
Both quotes describe opinions about women that have supported the actions of everyone from harassers of women to rapists of women ever since they were formulated.
According to the second opinion, if men fail to control themselves, all of the blame rightfully falls on the women whose "civilising force" isn't strong enough to control them.
Yet, according to the opinion described in the title of this page, it is not only justifiable but moral and protective of society to accuse women of being emasculating if they tell men "No" about anything. After all, according to that opinion, women are "unhealthy" and "unnatural" if we try to be participants in the world around us rather than agreeing to be confined to the roles of spectators and wound-binders for men. If we don't heed the warnings to get out of the way, we deserve whatever we get; that's the message.

I am hunted like an animal every day. I am harassed, stalked, ridiculed, lied to, lied about, videotaped in bathrooms, a constant focus of jokes and threats by publications, governments, corporations, individuals, even volunteer organizations. I can't get or keep work or housing because of how stigmatized I am.
All of that is being caused to happen to me by the same people who are praising Leonardo DiCaprio for his promiscuity.
I doubt that he knows how many people he has slept with. If he does know that number, I'm sure that it's many multiples of the number of people with whom I have had sex.

The entertainment industry stole Marilyn Monroe's life, and has refused to let her die.
There always were and always will be more beautiful women than Marilyn Monroe. That poor, sad soul turned herself into a living fantasy for immature men; she sculpted her life into soft curves, soft answers, soft everything. She was a soothing, nonperson entity upon which men could project all of their dominating self-images. Nobody can live like that, which she proved.
It seems to me that the entertainment industry is owned and operated by old men who refuse to leave the past where it is, who insist on putting a wall of mirrors all the way around the world and turning everything into a geriatric carnival funhouse where they can forget that they are old and that women are human beings.

It seems to me that the conglomerate wants to discredit everything about sexual misconduct that Ms. Erdely has ever written, and that the conglomerate wants to do that because the conglomerate wants to legalize, and/or make socially accepted, sexual violence against everyone who isn't an adult, heterosexual male.
It is disgusting that there are people who claim to be condemning the article out of concern that "real" rape victims will be terrified to tell their stories because of that article. Terrifying rape victims into not telling their stories, and terrifying journalists into not writing about those stories; all of that is exactly what the conglomerate wants.

Homeless people are some of the people most despised by society, while celebrities and other rich and famous people are some of the most beloved. Yet, many rich and famous people routinely behave in ways for which homeless people are despised.

Homeless people are familiar with those phrases, which are often used by many shelter staff as automatic responses to protests by homeless people about unfair and even abusive treatment.
There are no casinos that have "You Should Be Grateful" written over the front doors, are there?
That someone's gambling or other profligate habit isn't endangering that person's ability to have a nice house or to support a family doesn't mean that the indulgence of that habit is responsible.
Wealth and virtue are not equivalent.

What causes people to attack someone like this? Everything that I say, everything that I do, the innumerable times that I have talked about being suicidal because of what the conglomerate is doing to me, the normal, life activities that I am prevented from doing because the conglomerate stymies every chance I have of not being in a dire situation all the time, my being harassed, stalked, fired, evicted, unable to get housing, threatened by places where I considered applying for work or school, my documentation of what my life is like with these things happening, and the attacks never stop.
I guess there are people who just like rape, the things that lead to it, and the devastation that it causes. They like to see all of that, to make it happen, to watch their victims helplessly protest, to feel their power that way.

I don't know if it's true that you're angry at her for talking about what it was like to film the Twilight sex scene. I didn't see that Twilight movie, and haven't read the article about it. The quotes that I have read attributed to Ms. Stewart seem to pertain to what it was like for her to have performance anxiety for something very hyped, and weren't meant to be derogatory about her then-boyfriend.
Gossipers love to gossip, so who knows what's true of what they say?
