Charlie Sheen seems to be the only person who has done the Ice Bucket Challenge by trying to be remotely nice to me.
I was very mean to him after he did that. I was mean to a lot of people last year. I wasn't feeling a lot of love for humanity at that time. After everything that's happened to me, misanthropy continues to be something that I have to fight every day, and sometimes I lose.
He has said a lot of awful things since then, which perhaps is a reason that it's never a good idea to be mean to people who are at least sort've trying to be nice to you. What's a parable about that? It's not that you should take the actions of consistently good people for granted, just that it's not good to punish the attempts of not-so-good people to be as nice as they know how to be.
