Prime Minister Cameron

August 20, 2015

I don't think that I have ever asked you for anything before.

I don't know how aware you are of the racist attacks on FKA twigs because she is part of a biracial couple.  I think this could be a good opportunity for the government to try to raise general awareness about racial discrimination.

I don't know that it would be helpful for that couple for the government to create something around them specifically; that would be a lot of pressure for them.  If, for example, there were public service ads that reminded people that there's nothing wrong with people dating who aren't the same color, it would help a lot of people and I think that a lot of youth would automatically think of that couple because Robert Pattinson is so famous.

In the absence of a strong, clear, positive message about race, it is more likely than not that people who don't know what to think or who don't think frequently about race will at least partially accept or not actively refute stereotypes that have been part of their culture for centuries.

In the United States, there are two racial groups; white people and everybody else.  We are separate and unequal in everything except the wording of the law. It shouldn't be that way.

It occurred to me a few days ago that I could ask you to address socially accepted racial discrimination.  I wasn't sure if I should; it's not as if everything that I say is always met with something other than derision, and I am far from being a politically neutral or universally liked person.

She's been attacked every day since she and Mr. Pattinson started dating.  That doesn't just happen; they aren't isolated incidents.  Entrenched, socially accepted racism is what's causing it.

I thought about asking the European Union to do something about it, because people from all over the world write awful things at her social media around the clock.  That seemed like a lot to fail at if the Union refused or responded with ridicule of me or of that couple.

I don't support anything from the conglomerate's agenda.  I'm trying to suggest a positive that could be started from a negative.  In 2015, people should not be getting attacked for dating outside their races.

I am dealing with a lot of stress all the time; every day is full of chances for me to say the wrong thing, which I do a lot.  I don't think that what I'm suggesting is a bad idea, and I hope that you will consider it, even if I ruin everything that I try to do tomorrow or this week or at any time in the future.
