Mario Testino

October 19, 2015

I had no choice.

I was never asked.

If I were asked, I would have said no.

I have said no for years, and that "NO" is scoffed at as if it is totally inconsequential and amusing.

Sex and power; the yeses and the nos can't be ignored in a world that wants to deserve the adjective "civilized."

Perhaps the people whom you photograph in towels think that they are being daring; that's not the same thing as being forced to be courageous for the rest of your life because there's nothing you can do to stop what is happening to you.

High class and low class behavior is defined by how people treat themselves and other people; there is no other definition that is worth anything.  My choice was taken from me, never offered to me, illegally and viciously stolen; there's nothing more low class than that, than people with power depriving other people of their rights because they can.
