University of Massachusetts Boston

October 14, 2015

That university ought to be a place that I feel that I'm able to attend.  I have lived in Massachusetts since 2011.  It is the most financially advantageous school for me.  There's nothing that I can do about what it's called, which is UMass Boston; I know that would be problematic, but that's the sort of interpretation issue that I have tried to address for years.

The ads for that school show its hostility toward me.  I think that it would probably be painful for me to be a student there; I'm sure that I would be harassed every day, that there would be numerous incidents in which I lost my temper and raised my voice to abusers, that socially it would be difficult, and that I would be in danger of being made to leave before I got my degree.

Why should that happen to me or to anyone?  Why should slut-shaming prevent someone from getting an education, while the people who inflicted a horrible crime on her are treated as if they are superior to her?
