The shelter is going to get more crowded as the weather gets colder. It's not that unusual for people to have to sleep in the lobby a few nights a week during every season except summer.
I was tired today; I'll be very tired tomorrow. It will probably take a few days in a row of getting a bed to recover from the sleep I'm losing. How long the recovery will take will also depend on which bed I get when that happens; some of the beds are near the doors to the locker room and the bathroom and don't offer as much sleep in a night as others.
This is what it's like to be homeless, for everyone who is homeless.
