I don't know if you realize how bitter everything has been for the past 5 years. The conglomerate's tone tends to be humorous about a lot of things that aren't funny, so it could be that you just don't know how dead-serious everything has been.
You seem intelligent and have the education and the resources to do a lot in the industry that you have chosen, if you don't push people. There's no reason that you shouldn't eventually work with all sorts of people, but I'm telling you that you need to cool your approach.
The conglomerate screams about me all the time, but it also knows that my history is to be trustworthy in the final analysis. If I weren't telling it "no" all the time about the crimes it promotes, it wouldn't care nearly as much about trying to make me look like a hypocrite.
