Kim Davis

September 17, 2015

Gay people have the right to be married, and that right needs to be respected.  Hopefully, Ms. Davis and other people who feel the way that she does about gay marriage can respect that right and understand the reasons for it without being fired, jailed, fined, or turned into symbols by politicians.

Heterosexual felons can get married.  The idea that consenting, gay adults who work, pay taxes and have never even been arrested can't get married is not democratic, and democracy is the reason that anybody in the United States has a legally protected right to freedom of religion at all.
