I got gum recession which made my lower teeth move around because the psychiatric medications that I took for years at a time, starting in my late teens, gave me dry mouth. Nobody told me that dry mouth causes gum recession until years later, when it had already happened. What I was told was "You have to take these medications or you'll never have a normal life." I don't think that those medications made my life more normal; some of them made me much more aggressive than I ever was before.
The pharmaceutical industry bought the medical establishment years ago.
