What I'd like to say to the director of the women's side of the Pine Street Inn

September 2, 2015

You have guaranteed that the way that I get treated at the Pine Street Inn is going to get worse and worse, starting immediately.  You are creating a crisis.

I will publicly document what happens until the inevitable breaking point.  Whether that breaking point will be that the male employee whose persistently inappropriate behavior you have denied rapes a guest or that I get a permanent suspension of services from the shelter when the weeks of escalating abuse provoke me into saying or doing something that the staff who are colluding to lie to you will use to put me on the streets of Boston this fall or this winter, or sooner than that, I couldn't say.

Many of the staff are going to emotionally abuse me because of your decision, in addition to the male guest about whom I contacted you and whose behavior you have officially denied in your letter to me of today.  Many of the guests will also abuse me, when they see that the staff are abusing me, and that the male employee in question is free to harass and stalk me as much as he wants.  I will be screamed at by every supervisor whom I might try to ask for help to make the abuse stop, including the supervisor who was already a personal friend of that male employee before he was hired to work at the women's side of the Pine Street Inn a few months ago.

I'm not sure what's causing you to treat this problem as if I am lying or confused and am therefore the problem instead of the target.  I would not be surprised if part of your motivation is your fear of alienating the staff who are your subordinates but who have many years' seniority to you.  That's not a good enough reason.  Fear of the conglomerate is also not a good enough reason.  It's your job to do everything that you can to create a safe environment for the female guests of the Pine Street Inn.  There's no excuse for allowing staff to abuse the guests.

If the male employee whose behavior you have denied today rapes me, I will press charges.  I will present to the court copies of all of the emails that I have sent to employees of the Pine Street Inn during these past months that he and others have harassed and stalked me.  I will present to the court the letters that I have written to you about this issue, and your letter to me of today in which you have denied what is shown in the tapes that the Pine Street Inn only keeps for a week after they are filmed.  I will do everything that I can to put him in jail, and I will sue you and I will sue the Pine Street Inn.
