Kelly Rohrbach

August 30, 2015

You probably don't really know that much about what has happened over the past 5 years.  Mostly, you know what the conglomerate people around you have told you, and what you think that you have observed.  You would not be the first young woman to incorrectly consider my thoughts about a situation to be motivated by jealousy, if that's how you choose to interpret those thoughts.

You won't be allowed to date Robert Pattinson and have a good career.  The industry which raised you to some prominence from among other young and beautiful women because of your name can and will send you to obscurity for leaving Leonardo DiCaprio for a younger and better looking man who is the sort of heartthrob that Mr. DiCaprio was 10 years ago.

The only rules in your industry are based on the protection and exaggeration of the egos of the men who are most powerful in that industry.

If you had never dated Leonardo DiCaprio, you could have dated Robert Pattinson and left him for someone like Zac Efron and it would also have damaged your career.

In your industry, men can do whatever they want, as long as the only men whom they offend are less powerful than the offenders, and women have to put up with all of it or be punished.  For a woman to behave as badly as those men do is to flirt with death.

Mr. Pattinson is a big star, but he's not as established as Mr. DiCaprio is.  His network in and out of the industry isn't as diverse or as large.  Mr. DiCaprio isn't just an actor anymore; he produces projects, finances humanitarian causes, and has political connections.

The conglomerate is probably being quiet about what seems to be your mutual flirtation with Mr. Pattinson because it likes to blame me for EVERYTHING and because it doesn't want to embarrass Mr. DiCaprio.  If you insist that the United States and England are part of the free world and nobody can tell you whom to date, and that you want to date Mr. Pattinson, you won't fare as badly as I have, even though I have yet to steal someone's boyfriend during all of these years of being slutshamed by the conglomerate.  What has happened to me won't happen to you because I'm poor and you were already rich before you decided to be an actress and a model.  You won't have to live in a homeless shelter.  You probably won't be a victim of voyeurism.  You won't be harassed and stalked all day and every day.

Nobody has to give you work, though.

I know that you are from a part of the United States that has an unusually high concentration of rich and powerful people.  It could be that you aren't worried about your future because there has never been a time in your life in which a material thing that you wanted couldn't be obtained for you by money or by someone who knew someone.  You might be surprised by how many people in the world outside of that which is directly part of the entertainment industry will not be sympathetic to a woman your age who left a multimillionaire my age for a man who is Robert Pattinson's age, and by how many of those people will not be enthusiastic about applying pressure to that industry just so that you can continue to work as an actress and a model.

Consider all of the corporations that persecute me.  Most of them are probably not run by women.
