USA Basketball Youth Development

March 22, 2015

Yesterday, I saw a television ad for USA Basketball Youth Development.  I then looked at the website for the organization.  The first few pages of the website seem careful not to have conglomerate-promoting code.

The organization's Facebook page is much less careful. That's probably true of a number of organizations which have Facebook, Twitter, or other social media profiles.  It could be that the people who are in charge of those organizations don't take the Internet seriously and so don't require strict supervision of the organizations' social media pages.

I think it's important not to forget that pedophiles look for every opportunity that  will put them in contact with minors.  They also look for every sign that their predatory behaviors will be ignored or encouraged.  Whether or not people who are in charge of organizations with social media profiles are aware of what messages those profiles are sending about the organizations, pedophiles never stop looking for prey and places where it will be easy to find it.

Those are pictures from tonight of the Facebook page of USA Basketball Youth Development.  Rather than try to take pictures only of each particularly problematic post, I took pictures sequentially of the first several posts at the profile.
