Has it occurred to anyone who is thinking of producing yet another movie about multiple personality disorder that the reason that Mr. Milligan was not jailed for committing three rapes is that violence against women is excused more often than not? Even if not in so many words, the defense "I felt like having sex with her" frequently acquits men of sexual assault or prevents them from being charged at all.
Could a woman who had beaten three men present a successful defense of multiple personality disorder? Misogynist culture hates for a woman to have even one personality; think what it would do to a female criminal with many.
