My father is a lawyer. He always worked so much and clearly felt such responsibility for his cases that it wasn't until I was over 30 that it occurred to me that lawyers are generally considered to have professional prestige.
There are also a number of lawyers among my relatives and most of my parents' friends seem to be lawyers.
Because I have known so many lawyers, I don't assume that someone who talks about getting a lawyer in a threatening way is right; nor do I tremble in automatic fear.
Being a lawyer doesn't mean that someone doesn't have personal problems. There are no professional heights that someone can attain that can make a person's life everything that he, she or others might like it to be. President Obama is a prime example of someone who is an educated person and a lawyer who is frequently confused about right and wrong, with tragic consequences for the world.
I don't know that there's much that I can do about the voyeuristic videos of me until they surface online or in someone other, public way. If or when that happens, I'll be able to consider my legal options.
